The small coastal resort of San
Juan de los Terreros has several restaurants, 2 supermarkets, a
chemist, modern medical centre, ice cream parlours and a beautiful new
palm tree lined promenade by the sea. There is a weekly market during
the summer months. The northerly coast road to the nearest town of
Aquilas (10 km away) leads to several beautiful quiet bays which are a
paradise for scuba-diving enthusiasts.
Aquilas has many shops, restaurants, several large supermarkets, a port, marina and 3 beaches. The coastal road south leads again to a number of quiet bays before reaching the highly popular and busy resorts of Garrucha and Mojacar Playa, close to the ancient and fascinating hill-town of Mojacar itself.
The whole area offers many leisure pursuits including walking, swimming, diving, fishing and golf. There is a choice of golf courses within easy reach, especially the famous Desert Springs which is close to the interesting town of Cuevas de Almanzora and only half an hour from ‘Casa del Sol’.
